About HALE
|
HALE (Health Action Local Engagement) is a healthy living project working across Shipley, Frizinghall, Bingley, Baildon, Wharfedale, Windhill and Wrose. HALE was set up in 2003 and became an independent charity in 2008. Although we have grown and developed over the years, our overall aim remains the same: to improve people's health where there is the greatest need. We have produced 3 directories listing activities and services available to people of all ages within the Shipley Constituency. These are split down into 3 areas: Shipley, Windhill & Wrose, Bingley (which includes Bingley Rural), and Baildon, Menston & Burley in Wharfedale. You can see the directories on the Downloads section of this website, or contact the HALE office and we'll happily send you a copy. In Autumn 2010, HALE organised a Creative Health Solutions event to explore health needs in the Shipley constituency and generate new ideas for addressing gaps in provision. The event was a huge success and identified Mental Health as a key area of concern. Following on from this we held a second event in June 2011, which had a specific Mental Health focus. Our hope is that these events will provide a springboard for more effective working between health and wellbeing organisations in the future. You can download the reports from both events below.
