Warm Homes, Healthy People

As part of Bradford Council’s citywide scheme HALE will be using distributing free resources to vulnerable people of all ages in the community during poor weather.

Starting on Tuesday 14th February we will be running 'Right up My Street' cook n eat sessions on our MOV, offering free hot food and drinks to those who want something warm.  We will also be providing blankets, thermometers, flasks and warm clothing, as well as offering a service whereby basic provisions can be taken to people in the event of severe weather conditions.

To download a copy of our flyer with details of the scheme click here.

The scheme runs across Bradford and includes advice centres, HOTs, Carers Resource and Age UK, who will all be offering additional support during the cold weather.

If you know someone who might benefit from extra support during very cold weather, or know of an organisation working with vulnerable people who may be interested in the scheme please contact Safa on 01274 271088.

Talking about your generation...?

We're running an intergenerational project at Kirkgate Community Centre in Shipley, on Fridays until 2nd March, from 11am until 12 noon.  The project focuses on sharing life experience and brings young and older people together for fun drama based sessions.

Anyone interested in finding out more should contact Rebecca Dawson on 01274 271088, or come along and join in!

What's happening in your area?

If you'd like to find out about local activities and services to help your health and wellbeing, why not look in one of our directories?

We've produced three different directories listing activities for all ages in the following areas:

  • Shipley, Windhill and Wrose
  • Baildon, Menston and Burley-in-Wharfedale
  • Bingley (including Bingley Rural)

You can download them by clicking here.

We also have a limited number of the Baildon and Bingley guides available which we can send out to you.  The guides are completely free. To request your copy, contact HALE on 01274 271088 or email info@haleproject.org.uk

We're also now working to update these guides.  If you are involved in a group and would like to be listed in the directory for your area please contact HALE.
